Iphone Friendly Websites - Top 10

By

The built in web browser is one of the most powerful features of your Iphone.  Here are ten web sites that look and perform great with it.

  • Gmail has always looked pretty good in the Iphone, but since spring 2009 the site has a new look and great functionality. It's more usable than the built in Iphone mail application!
  • Google Calendar is pretty much the same. Since they added the "view by month" feature in spring 2009, there's not much difference between this and the built in Iphone calendar except that google calendar doesn't require synching with your computer. For people who use non-Macs in particular, this is a great application.
  • ESPN.com is another great site. The mobile version is less cluttered that the regular website, making it a pleasure to see how your teams are doing. With almost the same functionality as the regular site, this is a great website to bookmark on your IPhone.
  • Weather.com looks great on the Iphone, and you can bookmark your locations to get instant access to current weather and the forecast. You can also check out various weather maps.
  • Facebook has one of the most popular applications in the Iphone App Store, but their website also looks great on the Iphone. You don't need to download anything to check up on your friends and let everybody know what's going on with you.
  • Twitter works with your Iphone, thank goodness.
  • Amazon lets you compare prices when you're out shopping, look up reviews, and (if the price is better) buy stuff right from your phone. Again, the Iphone version is clean, sleek, and easy to use.
  • Bank of America has an ATM search tool and online banking functions for their account holders. This is particularly useful when you're out of town and need to find a branch.
  • Toodledo is a todo application that rivals the applications available in the App Store. It works through the web, so your todo lists are always synched up.
  • Me2bus is a super cool application for people who live in cities like New York City, Boston, and Washington D.C. You can look up what bus you're interested in and see when it'll be at a particular stop. It's easy to use, quick, and really useful if you take the bus often.
